With free standing GF series gas heaters, you can program four different times and four different temperatures to match the activities of your family. The GF series each have a 7-day timer, so you can customize the four time/temperature program for individual days of the week. With both Monitors you can reduce the already low electrical consumption, prolong component life, and increase the Monitor’s efficiency by using the Economy Plus mode.

The MONITOR: HOW it works and WHY it works:

The monitor heater is not meant to replace your tired furnace or boiler.
It is designed to supplement your heating system.

  • The Monitor can take over the work of your heating system 80 to 100% of the time depending on your heating needs.

If your heating system is 15 years old or older, it is probably operating at 75% efficiency or less.

  • The Monitor operates at 83% efficiency.  It extracts 83% of the energy from the fuel you use.

Your heating system is usually removed from the area you are trying to heat i.e.basement or attic.

  • The Monitor is placed in the heated envelope.  It can be put in the living room, dining room or kitchen depending upon the best location for distribution of heat.

Ductwork or hydronic piping for the heat distribution system passes through an unheated area (basement or attic)

  • There is no ductwork or piping.  You get the full heat of the Monitor as you would with a wood stove but without the hassles of burning wood.

Your heating system has just one BTU or heating output, 80,000 to as much as 170,000 or more. When the system is calling for heat, it is often expending more BTU’s than are necessary to maintain the heat needed in your house.  The traditional heating system is like a car that is stuck in 1st gear running at maximum rpm.  Inefficient.

  • The monitor has a modulating heating delivery system so that it supplies the BTU’s you need, as required.  For example, if you only need a small amount of heat to bring the heated area up to desired temp, the Monitor supplies that heat at the lower BTU level.

There is a prolonged time that your heating system must work before your system actually gets heat to your living spaces.

  • The Monitor supplies heat instantly to the space you want to heat.

All traditional heating systems are oversized for the space so that on the coldest of days, the homeowner will have more than enough heat.  Over sizing is not efficient, however. All of the other days when fewer BTU’s are required, the heating system is cranking away at maximum output.

  • The Monitor is a very different kind or heater:  It is frequently criticized by heating “experts” as having insufficient BTU’s to heat a home.  But they fail to recognize that is not the Monitor’s purpose.
  • The Monitor is designed to heat the most used and popular area in the home, thus keeping the primary and more expensive system from kicking in except in extreme conditions.

It is because of these differences, that the Monitor can save as much as 50% on your electric heat or oil heating bill.

HEAR WHAT LOCAL PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THEIR NEWLY PURCHASED MONITORS:

Mary Bartlett, Norwich, CT  June 2006

“It was costing us $500.00 every three weeks to heat with our oil boiler.  Now with our natural gas, Monitor, it costs $250 per month during the heating season.” Ramon,  Norwich, CT April  2008

Warming your heart...Warming your home.

  • In this shrinking world Monitor is a front runner since more than 25 years intoducing energy saving technology to save you money.
  • Monitor gas and kerosene direct vent heaters have been keeping America’s homes warm for more than 25 years, helping to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels.
  • In 2006 Monitor introduced the MWH180 series which produces hot water instantly on demand, only using energy when needed.
